Then Moses had said, Today you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD, for each one has consecrated in his son and in his brother, that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. Forty years long I was grieved with this generation and said, It is a people that err from the heart, who have not known my ways; unto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
