Leave me, you who practice evil, that I may observe the commands of my God.
The face of the LORD is set against those who do evil, and he will remove people's recollection of them from the earth.
Those who do evil will perish. But those who wait on the LORD will inherit the land.
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against those who practice iniquity?

Like birds hovering overhead, so the LORD of the Heavenly Armies will protect Jerusalem; he will shield and deliver it; and he will pass over and bring it to safety. Woe to this filthy, polluted, and oppressive city! It won't obey anyone. It won't accept discipline. It does not trust in the LORD. It does not approach God.

This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind, who makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the desert, and he won't see when good comes. He will dwell in parched places in the wilderness, a land of salt, without inhabitants.
