Do not look to nobles, nor to mere human beings who cannot save.

For I place no confidence in my bow, nor will my sword deliver me.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding.

"Stop trusting in human beings, whose life breath is in their nostrils, for what are they really worth?"

This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind, who makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants:

When people say, "There is peace and security," destruction will strike them as suddenly as labor pains come to a pregnant woman, and they will not be able to escape.

Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town, stay there a year, conduct business, and make money." You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life?
