For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD; but his secret is with the righteous.

Say unto the righteous that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat of the fruit of their doings.

He shall not withdraw his eyes from the righteous; but with kings he shall place them on the throne for ever, and they shall be exalted.

The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips, but the just shall come out of the tribulation.

The king that judges the poor with truth, his throne shall be established for ever.

Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one and didst say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of my people. I have found David my slave; I anointed him with the oil of my holiness, with whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him. read more.
The enemy shall not overcome him, nor the son of iniquity break him down. But I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him. But my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. In the same manner I will set his hand also in the sea and his right hand in the rivers. He shall call me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my saving health. Also I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth. I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. I will also make his seed to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of the heavens. If his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments, if they profane my statutes and do not keep my commandments, then I will visit their rebellion with the rod and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless I will not take my mercy from him, neither will I falsify my truth. I will not profane my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before me. It shall be established for ever as the moon and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Now, therefore, so shalt thou say unto my slave David, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel; and I have been with thee wherever thou didst walk and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth. Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, that they may dwell in their place and never again be removed; neither shall the sons of iniquity afflict them any more as before, read more.
since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. And I will cause thee to rest from all thy enemies. Likewise, the LORD makes thee to know that he will make thee a house. And when thy days are fulfilled and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men; but my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I took away from before thee. And thy house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee; thy throne shall be established for ever.

Then David, the king, stood up upon his feet and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool of our God and had made ready for the building. But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name because thou hast been a man of war and hast shed blood. However, the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever, for he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel; read more.
and of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons) he has chosen Solomon, my son, to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. And he said unto me, Solomon, thy son, he shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Moreover, I will establish his kingdom for ever if he is constant to do my commandments and my judgments as at this day.

Behold, God is mighty and does not despise; he is mighty in virtue of heart. He shall not give life to the wicked; but to the poor he shall give their right. He shall not withdraw his eyes from the righteous; but with kings he shall place them on the throne for ever, and they shall be exalted.

Take away the dross from the silver, and a vessel shall come forth for the finer. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John those things which you hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go and tell John the things ye have seen and heard: how the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached;

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, concerning me. Then he opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day; read more.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Thou hast increased, O LORD my God, thy wonderful works which thou hast done and thy thoughts regarding us; they are beyond our ability to express, declare, or speak; they cannot be told. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened; burnt offering and sin offering thou hast not required.

Nevertheless, in one or two manners God speaks to the one who does not see. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; then he opens the ears of men and seals their instruction, read more.
that he may withdraw the man from his own work and cover the man from pride. Thus he keeps back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing by the sword. He is chastened also upon his bed with strong pain in all his bones,

And if they were bound in fetters and captive in cords of affliction, then he shall show them their work and that their rebellions prevailed. He opens their ear to instruction and commands that they turn from iniquity. If they hearken and serve him, they shall spend their days in goodness and their years in delight. But if they do not hearken, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge. But the hypocrites in heart shall irritate him more; they shall not cry out when he binds them. Their soul shall die in youth, and their life is among the male pagan cult prostitutes. He shall deliver the poor from his poverty, and in affliction shall open their ears.

The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the wise that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary; he wakes up early, early shall he awaken my ear, that I might hear, as the wise. The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

And when they arose early in the morning and while they were going forth into the wilderness of Tekoa, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe the LORD your God, and ye shall be secure; believe his prophets, and ye shall be prospered.

Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that neither after him nor before was there any like him among all the kings of Judah. For he cleaved unto the LORD and did not depart from following him, but kept his commandments which the LORD commanded Moses. And the LORD was with him, and he prospered in all things in which he went forth; and he rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him. read more.
He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza and the borders thereof, from the towers of the watchmen to the fenced city.

Then shalt thou be prospered if thou shalt keep thyself to do the statutes and rights which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God and in the law and in the commandments, he sought God and he did it with all his heart and was prospered.

The house of the wicked shall be made desolate, but the tent of the upright shall flourish.

Only be thou strong and very courageous that thou mayest keep and do according to all the law, which Moses my slave commanded thee; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that thou may be prospered in all the things that thou doest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou may keep and do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way to prosper, and then thou shalt understand everything.

Keep the charge of the LORD thy God, walking in his ways, keeping his statutes and his commandments and his rights and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou may have understanding in all that thou doest and in everything that thou dost undertake, that the LORD may confirm the word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If thy sons take heed to their way, walking before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

And he persisted in seeking God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and in those days that he sought the LORD, God prospered him.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; those that love thee shall be brought into rest. Peace be within thy walls and rest within thy palaces.

And Samuel spoke unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you and prepare your hearts unto the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

If ye will fear the LORD and serve him and hear his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigns over you continue following the LORD your God.

And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day: to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul that I will give you the rain of your land in its due season, the early rain and the latter rain, and thou shalt gather in thy grain and thy wine and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy beasts, and thou shalt eat and be full.

Therefore, do not be stiffnecked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified for ever and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

But ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread and thy water; and I will take all sickness away from the midst of thee. No women shall abort, nor be barren, in thy land; the number of thy days I will fulfil. I will send my fear before thee and will trouble all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
