Then said Paul, "John verily baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him, which should come after him. That is on Christ Jesus."
as it is written in the book of the sayings of Isaiah the prophet, which sayeth, "The voice of a crier in wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low: And crooked things shall be made straight: and the rough ways shall be made smooth. And all flesh shall see the saviour sent of God."
Jesus answered, and said unto them, "Elijah shall first come, and restore all things.
As it is written in the prophets, "Behold, I send my messenger before thy face which shall prepare thy way before thee;" "The voice of a crier in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight." And he did eat locusts and wild honey, and preached, saying, "A stronger than I cometh after me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I have baptised you with water: but he shall baptise you with the holy ghost."

For Zion's sake therefore will I not hold my tongue, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not cease: until their righteousness break forth as a shining light, and their salvation as a burning lamp.

And he said unto them, "These are the words, which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you: that all must be fulfilled which were written of me in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms." Then opened he their wits, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, "Thus is it written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.
