Then the squad of soldiers with their commanding officer and the officers of the Jewish leaders arrested Jesus and tied him up.

From the three he was given double honor and he became their officer, even though he was not one of them.

From Benjamin, Eliada, a skilled warrior, led 200,000 men who were equipped with bows and shields, and Jehozabad led 180,000 trained warriors. These were the ones who served the king, besides those whom the king placed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.




Crispus, the president of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians who heard about it believed and were baptized.

I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,



But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ -- by grace you are saved! --







Rather it is because of his love for you and his faithfulness to the promise he solemnly vowed to your ancestors that the Lord brought you out with great power, redeeming you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.



The Lord is God and he has delivered us. Tie the offering with ropes to the horns of the altar!
