Jesus answered them, you are mistaken, for want of a true notion of the scriptures, and of the divine power. for in the other life after this, there will be no such thing as marriage; but they will be as the angels of God in heaven. now as to the state of life after death, have ye not read that expression of God himself, read more.

If then you are risen with Christ, seek the things, that are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God. let the things above, and not such worldly matters be the object of your thoughts. for you are dead to them, and Christ has secured your life with God.

at these words the Pharisees and the Sadducees were all in confusion, the whole assembly being divided: for the Sadducees maintain, there is neither resurrection, nor angel, or spirit, whereas the Pharisees acknowledge both: the clamour was great,

they shall no more suffer hunger or thirst, neither shall the sun dart on them, nor any heat molest them. for the lamb who is in the midst before the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
