He does not have a day-by-day need as the high priests do, first to offer up sacrifices for his own sins, then for those of the people. He sacrificed for sin once for all when he offered up himself. The Father loves me. Therefore I lay down my life and I take it back again. No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I have authority (jurisdiction) (right) to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment from my Father.

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great. He will divide the spoils with the strong. This is because he poured out his life unto death. He was numbered with the transgressors. He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
