Therefore is the kingdom of the heavens likened unto a man who is king who would take account of his slaves.

Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets and wise men and scribes, and some of them ye shall kill and crucify, and some of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues and persecute them from city to city,



But he that knew not and did commit things worthy of stripes shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom much was committed, more will be asked of him.

And it came to pass that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these slaves to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much each one had gained by trading.


And it seems strange to those that speak evil of you, that ye do not run with them to the same unchecked dissolution; the same shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.


But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou belittle thy brother? for we shall all stand before the tribunal of the Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.


But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.




Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind, and dumb, and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spoke and saw. And all the people were amazed and said, Is not this the son of David? But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out demons but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons. read more.
And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not remain; and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom remain? And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then certainly the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into the strong man's house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. He that is not with me is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters abroad. Therefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him, but whosoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age, neither in the age to come. Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him; and they came home. And the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. And when his friends and family heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him; for they said, He is beside himself. read more.
But the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said that he had Beelzebub and that by the prince of the devils he cast out devils. And he called them unto him and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot remain. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot remain. And if Satan rises up against himself and is divided, he cannot remain, but has an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods except he will first bind the strong man, and then he will spoil his house. Even as Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that those who are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, evangelized Abraham in advance, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed. read more.
So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident, for The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith, but The man that does the commandments shall live by them. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree), That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, seeing it is one God who shall justify the circumcision by faith and the uncircumcision by faith.

But, O vain man, dost thou desire to know that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? Dost thou not see how the faith worked together with his works, and the faith was complete by the works? read more.
And that the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness, and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?


And the unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him and cried out, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.


Because dreams abound, and vanities and the words are many, but fear thou God.

As thorns sunk into the hand of one who is drunk, so is a proverb in the mouth of fools.




The heart of him that has understanding seeks wisdom, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.




Wise men keep knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near unto calamity.

The lips of the wise disperse wisdom, but the heart of the foolish does not so.


Like unto the way that the one who is lame walks, so is a proverb in the mouth of the fool.


O that ye would altogether be silent! And it would be unto you instead of wisdom.

Shall vain words have an end? Or what is it that emboldens thee to answer? I also could speak as ye do. I wish your soul were in my soul's stead, that I could heap up words against you and shake my head at you.

Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

Never answer a fool according to his folly lest thou also be like unto him.

Do not accuse a slave in the presence of his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. The fool multiplies words and says, Man cannot tell what shall be, and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
