As Jesus was passing thence, he saw a man called Mathew sitting at the tax-office, and said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him. And while he was at table in Matthew's house, there came many tax-gatherers and sinners, and they dined with Jesus and his disciples.

These are the names of the apostles (missionaries). (For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the haul of fish which they had made; and so were Simon's partners, James and John, sons of Zebedee.) But Jesus answered Simon. "Fear not; from this time on, you will be catching men." So when they had brought their boats to land they left everything and followed him.

On entering the city they went to the upper room where they were accustomed to meet. They were Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James, son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.
