a woman came to Him, having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on His head as He reclined. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for very much and given to the poor. read more.
When Jesus understood it, He said to them, Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work on Me. For you have the poor with you always, but you do not always have Me. For in putting ointment on My body, she did it for My burial.

Then Mary took a pound of ointment of pure spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. Then said one of His disciples (Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who was to betray Him) Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor? read more.
He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and held the moneybag and carried the things put in. Then Jesus said, Let her alone. She has kept this for the day of My burial.


And they who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.

And they laid their hands on Him and seized Him.

And laying hold on Him, they led Him away and brought Him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

Then the band, and the chiliarch, and under-officers of the Jews together seized Jesus and bound Him.


Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was taken up into Heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And going out, they proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by miraculous signs following. Amen.

And He led them out as far as Bethany. And lifting up His hands, He blessed them. And it happened as He blessed them, He withdrew from them and was carried up into Heaven. And worshiping Him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy. read more.
And they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

And saying these things, as they watched, He was taken up. And a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they were looking intently into the heaven, He having gone, even behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, who also said, Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into the heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up from you into Heaven, will come in the way you have seen Him going into Heaven. read more.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount Of Olive Grove, which is a sabbath day's journey from Jerusalem.


Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests. And he said to them, What will you give me, and I will betray Him to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

And Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray Him to them. And when they heard, they were glad and promised to give him silver. And he sought how he might conveniently betray Him.

And Satan entered into Judas, surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the Twelve. And going, he talked with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad and they agreed to give him silver. read more.
And he fully consented, and he sought opportunity to betray Him to them, away from the crowd.

And as He was yet speaking, behold a crowd! And he who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, went before them. And he drew near Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?

Then He came to His disciples and said to them, Sleep on now and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going; behold, he who is betraying Me is at hand. And as He was yet speaking, behold, Judas came, one of the Twelve. And with him came a great crowd with swords and clubs, being sent from the chief priests and elders of the people. read more.
And he who betrayed Him gave them a sign, saying, Whomever I shall kiss, He is the one, lay hold on Him. And coming up to Jesus immediately, he said, Hail, Master! And he kissed Him. And Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you here? Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.

When Jesus had said this, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, Truly, truly, I say to you that one of you shall betray Me.





And going up to Jerusalem, Jesus took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said to them,

And arriving in Jerusalem, Saul attempted to join himself to the disciples. But they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.


And finding disciples, we stayed there seven days; who said to Paul through the Spirit that he should not go up to Jerusalem.




And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James and Salome, had bought sweet spices so that they might come and anoint Him.

And he bought a linen cloth, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a tomb which was cut out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the tomb.


(For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)

And returning early to the city, He hungered.

And on the next day, they going out of Bethany, He was hungry.

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterwards hungry. And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

forty days, being tempted by the Devil. And in those days He ate nothing. And they being ended, He afterward was hungry. And the Devil said to Him, If you are the Son of God, speak to this stone that it might become bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written that "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God."



Behold My Servant, whom I uphold; My Elect, in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring out judgment to the nations. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He shall not break, and a smoking wick He shall not quench; He shall bring out judgment to truth. read more.
He shall not fail nor be discouraged until He has set judgment in the earth; and the coasts shall wait for His Law.

He shall not strive, nor cry, nor shall any one hear His voice in the streets. He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not quench a smoking wick, until He sends out judgment to victory.

And Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you here? Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and he struck a servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, Put up your sword again into its place; for all who take the sword shall perish with a sword. Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give Me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?


And going out Jesus saw a large crowd. And He was moved with compassion toward them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.


And when He had sent the crowds away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray. And when evening had come, He was there alone.


And about eight days after these sayings, He took Peter and John and James and went up into a mountain to pray.

And taking leave of them, He went away to the mountain to pray.




And as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things that they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

And He commanded them, that they should tell no one. But the more He commanded them, so much the more they proclaimed it.

Then He warned His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See, let no one know.

And He strictly charged them that they should not make Him known.

And He strictly warned them that no one should know this. And He said to give her something to eat.

And He charged them that they should tell no one of Him.


Then the chief priests and Pharisees gathered a sanhedrin, and said, What can we do? For this man does many miracles. If we let him alone this way, all will believe on him. And the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation. And one of them, Caiaphas, being the high priest of that year, said to them, You do not know anything at all, read more.
nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation perish. And he did not speak this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation; and not for that nation only, but also that He should gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad. Then from that day they took counsel together that they might kill Him. Therefore Jesus walked no more openly among the Jews; but He went away from there to a country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and continued there with His disciples.

Then the Pharisees went out and held council against Him, as to how they might destroy Him. But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from there. And great crowds followed Him, and He healed them all. And He warned them that they not make Him known,

And Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples. And a great crowd from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea,


Therefore Jesus walked no more openly among the Jews; but He went away from there to a country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and continued there with His disciples.

While you have the Light, believe in the Light so that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things and departed and was hidden from them.


But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as in secret.





And those who passed by blasphemed Him, shaking their heads, and saying, You destroying the temple and building it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. And in the same way also the chief priests mocked, with the scribes and elders, saying, read more.
He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. (For He said, I am the Son of God.) And also the thieves who were crucified with Him reviled Him, saying the same.


And they shall deliver Him to the nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He shall rise again.





And standing up, the high priest said to Him, Do you answer nothing? What is it that these witness against you? But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.

And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. Then Pilate said to Him, Do you not hear how many things they witness against you? And He did not answer him a word, so that the governor greatly marveled.


But as they sailed, He fell asleep. And a storm of wind came onto the lake. And they were being filled with water and were in jeopardy.

And He was in the stern of the boat, asleep on a headrest. And they awakened Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we perish?

And behold, a great tempest arose in the sea, so much so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.


He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul. He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many; and He shall bear their iniquities.

And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and He began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Wait here and watch with Me. And He went a little further and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will. read more.
And He came to the disciples and found them asleep. And He said to Peter, What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done. And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. And He left them and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same word.

And He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful to death. Stay here and watch. And He went forward a little and fell on the ground. And He prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to You. Take away this cup from Me. Yet not what I will, but what You will. read more.
And He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, Simon, do you sleep? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Truly the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. And again He went away and prayed and spoke the same words. And when He returned, He found them asleep again (for their eyes were heavy), neither did they know what to answer Him. And He came the third time and said to them, Sleep on now and take your rest. It is enough, the hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man has been betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise up, let us go. Lo, he who betrays Me is at hand.

saying, Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done. And an angel appeared to Him from Heaven, strengthening Him. And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.


And He was transfigured before them. And His face shone as the sun, and His clothing was white as the light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him. And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If You will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. read more.
While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear Him. And when the disciples heard, they fell on their face and were greatly terrified. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise and do not be terrified. And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus alone. And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.


And it happened as He blessed them, He withdrew from them and was carried up into Heaven.

And if any one hears My Words and does not believe, I do not judge him, for I do not come to judge the world, but to save the world. He who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has one who judges him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.




Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life.


And all bore witness to Him and wondered at the gracious words which came out of His mouth. And they said, Is this not Joseph's son?
