Be not among winebibbers; among gluttonous eaters of meat:
But I roughly treat my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with carousing, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you: And put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.
Have you found honey? eat only as much as is sufficient for you, lest you be filled with it, and vomit it.
