But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:











Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.



But a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.



And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out secretly? nay verily; but let them come themselves and bring us out.












And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.


Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rains righteousness upon you.




Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto you, and break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquility.


Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.










When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you: And put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.

Have you found honey? eat only as much as is sufficient for you, lest you be filled with it, and vomit it.





Meekness, self-control: against such there is no law.
