And the LORD said unto Satan, "Lo, all that he hath, be in thy power: only upon himself see that thou lay not thine hand." Then went Satan forth from the LORD.
Then said the LORD unto Satan, "Lo, there hast thou him in thy power, but spare his life."
There hath none other temptation taken you, such as followeth the nature of man. God is faithful, which shall not suffer you to be tempted above your strength: but shall in the midst of the temptation make a way to escape out.
Therefore rejoice heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth, and of the sea: for the devil is come down unto you, which hath great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."
and cast him into the bottomless pit, and he bound him, and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the people no more, till the thousand years were fulfilled. And after that he must be loosed for a little season.
Then was Jesus led away of the spirit into wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward a hungered. Then came to him the tempter, and said, "If thou be the son of God, command that these stones be made bread."read more.
He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.'" Then the devil took him up into the holy city, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, "If thou be the son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, 'He shall give his angels charge over thee: and with their hands they shall hold thee up, that thou dash not thy foot against a stone.'" And Jesus said to him, "It is written also, 'Thou shalt not tempt thy Lord God.'" The devil took him up again and led him into an exceeding high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and all the glory of them; and said to him, "All these will I give thee if thou wilt fall down and worship me." Then said Jesus unto him, "Depart, Satan: For it is written, 'Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve.'" Then the devil left him, and, Behold, the angels came and ministered unto him.
Jesus then full of the holy ghost, returned from Jordan, and was carried of the spirit into a wilderness, and was forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days ate he nothing: And when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, "If thou be the son of God, command this stone that it be bread."read more.

And the devil said unto him, "All this power will I give thee every whit, and the glory of them: for that is delivered to me, and to whosoever I will I give it: If thou therefore wilt worship me, they shall be all thine." Jesus answered him, and said, "Hence from me, Satan. For it is written, 'Thou shalt honour the Lord thy God, and him only serve.'" And he carried him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, "If thou be the son of God, cast thyself down from hence. For it is written, 'He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee, and with their hands they shall stay thee up, that thou dash not thy foot against a stone.'" Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'" And as soon as the devil had ended all his temptations, he departed from him for a season.
For in that he himself suffered, and was tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
For we have not a high priest, which cannot have compassion on our infirmities: but was in all points tempted, as we are: but yet without sin.
Submit yourselves to God, and resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents, and scorpions, and over all manner power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Neither give ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: But give yourselves unto God, as they that are alive from death. And give your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Be angry, but sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath, neither give place unto the backbiter.
Put on the armour of God, that ye may stand steadfast against the crafty assaults of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood: but against rule, against power, and against worldly rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness for heavenly things. For this cause, take unto you the armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the evil day, and to stand perfect in all things.
Be sober, and watch. For your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist, steadfast in the faith, remembering that ye do but fulfill the same afflictions which are appointed to your brethren that are in the world.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know it beforehand: Beware, lest ye be also plucked away with the error of the wicked, and fall from your own steadfastness;
I write unto you fathers, how that ye have known him that was from the beginning. I write unto you young men, how that ye have overcome the wicked. I write unto you young children, how that ye know the father. I write unto you fathers, how that ye have known him that was from the beginning. I write unto you young men, how that ye be strong; and the word of God dwelleth in you, that ye have overcome the wicked.
but the Lord is faithful, which shall establish you, and keep you from evil.
We know that all that are born of God, sin not: but he that is born of God keepeth himself, and that wicked toucheth him not.
I desire not that thou shouldest take them out of the world: but that thou keep them from evil.
Lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.
And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired you, to sift you, as it were wheat: But I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. And when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."

and hath spoiled rule and power, and hath made a show of them openly, and hath triumphed over them in his own person.
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out a doors.
And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.
That in the name of Jesus should every knee bow, both of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under earth;
I swear by myself: out of my mouth cometh the word of righteousness, and that may no man turn: but all knees shall bow unto me, and all tongues shall swear by me,
All nations compassed me round about; but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. They kept me in, I say, on every side; but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. They came about me like bees, and are extinguished even as the fire among the thorns; for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils, and shall speak with new tongues, and shall kill serpents. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
And the seventy returned again with joy saying, Lord, even the very devils are subdued to us through thy name.
And this did she many days. But Paul, not content, turned about and said to the spirit, "I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ that thou come out of her." And he came out the same hour.
Yea and I am sure that neither death, neither life, neither angels; nor rule, neither power, neither things present, neither things to come, neither height, neither lowth, neither any other creature shall be able to depart us from the love of God, showed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I have fought a good fight, and have fulfilled my course, and have kept the faith. From henceforth is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord that is a righteous judge shall give me at that day: not to me only: but unto all them that love his coming.
Happy is the man that endureth in temptation, for when he is tried he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Let him that hath ears hear, what the spirit saith unto the congregations. To him that overcometh, will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.'
He that overcometh shall be clothed in white array, and I will not put out his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my father, and before his angels.
