And the king shall do according to his will. And he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods. But in his place he shall honor the god of fortresses. And a god whom his fathers did not know, he shall honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

But if ye have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth. This wisdom is not descending from above, but is earthly, world-soul, demonic. For where envy and selfish ambition are, there is instability and every evil deed.
in nothing according to selfish ambition or empty conceit, but in humility considering each other surpassing yourselves.
And do thou seek great things for thyself? Seek them not, for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says LORD, but thy life I will give to thee for a prey in all places where thou go.
