And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? And to whom shall he go up from us?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his maker?
What is man that he should be clean and that he that is born of a woman should be justified?
Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was kindled; against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
and Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident, for The just shall live by faith.
For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, Not of works, lest any man should boast.
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

But we were all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses as filthy rags; and we all fell as the leaves of a tree; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous; for we have an escape, as it is this day, behold us here, before thee in our guiltiness; for we cannot stand before thee because of this.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is no one that does good, no, not one.
O Lord, the righteousness belongs unto thee, but unto us the confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near and that are far off through all the lands where thou hast driven them because of their rebellion with which they have rebelled against thee.
Cease from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what is he to be accounted of?
When I shall receive the congregation, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; I bore up the pillars of it. Selah. I said unto the fools, Do not deal foolishly and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn:
Thus hath the LORD said; Cursed be the man that trusts in man and makes flesh his arm and whose heart departs from the LORD.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
The LORD has made known his saving health; he has openly showed his righteousness in the sight of the Gentiles.
I cause my righteousness to come near; it shall not go away; and my salvation shall not be stayed: and I will place salvation in Zion; and my glory in Israel.
My righteousness is near; my saving health is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me; and on my arm shall they place their hope.
Thus hath the LORD said, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him that glories glory in this, that he understands me and knows me, that I am the LORD who does mercy, judgment, and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight, said the LORD.
For in him is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
and in him all that believe are justified from all the things from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ,
For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God,
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, reconcile me, a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for anyone that exalts himself shall be humbled, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith.
For if Abraham were justified by works, he has reason to glory in himself, but not before God.
that, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.
For who makes thee to judge? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, what dost thou glory of, as if thou hadst not received it?
If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern my weakness.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. But in no wise should I glory, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ. And doubtless I even count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
