Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

In that day you will ask me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,

And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
