And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart. And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
and so that you may tell in the ears of your son, and of your son's sons, what things I have worked in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, so that you may know that I am Jehovah.
And it will be, when your sons shall say to you, What is this service to you? Then you shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah's passover, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our houses. And the people bowed and worshiped.
And it shall be when your sons asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? you shall say to him, Jehovah brought us out of Egypt by the strength of His hand, from the house of bondage. And it happened when Pharaoh hardened himself against sending us, Jehovah killed all the first-born of the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of animals. Therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that opens the womb, that are males. But all the first-born of my sons I redeem.
Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul carefully, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. But teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons.
When your son asks you in time to come, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes and the judgments which Jehovah our God has commanded you? Then you shall say to your son, We were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt, and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
My son, hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not the law of your mother;
The living, the living, he shall praise You, as I do this day; the father shall make Your truth known to the sons.
Tell your sons of it, and let your sons tell their sons, and their sons another generation.
Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
And fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Gather the people, men and women and the little ones, and your stranger who is within your gates, so that they may hear and that they may learn and fear Jehovah your God, and be careful to do all the words of this Law, and that their sons who have not known may hear and learn to fear Jehovah your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over Jordan to possess it.

Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not set your soul on making him die.
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Do not withhold correction from a boy, for if you beat him with the rod, he will not die.
The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a boy sent off causes shame to his mother.
