In hope that the creation itself shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.

For the creation was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by him who subjected it,

Therefore we faint not, but even though the outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break thro' and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break thro' nor steal.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.

Sell what ye have and give alms: provide yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world: if any one love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eye, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the desire thereof; but he that doth the will of God abideth for ever.

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, as it was not possible that he should be held under it. For thou wilt not leave my soul in Hades, neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou wilt fill me with joy by thy countenance. So also is the resurrection of the dead: it is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.

For we have here no continuing city; but we seek one to come.

And he shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall sorrow, or crying, or pain, be any more; because the former things are gone away.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
