And he saith unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of my cup, and with the baptism with which I am baptised, shall ye be baptised; but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, it is not in my power to bestow, but on those, for whom it was prepared by my Father.
Then Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup which I drink? and be baptised with the baptism with which I am baptised? And they said unto him, We are able. Then said Jesus unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup of which I drink; and be baptised with the baptism with which I am baptised:
Then said Jesus to Peter, Put up thy sword into the scabbard: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one who drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever shall drink of the water which I shall give him, he shall no more thirst to eternity; but the water which I will give him, shall be in him a fountain of water springing up to life eternal.
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood up and spake aloud, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.
And taking the cup, and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this: for this is my blood, that [blood] of the new testament, which is shed for many, for the remission of sins. And I tell you, That I will no more henceforth drink of this produce of the vine, until that day when I drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
And taking the cup, when he had given thanks, he gave it to them; and they all drank out of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Verily I say unto you, That I will henceforth no more drink of the produce of the vine, until that day when I shall drink it new in the kingdom of God.
And taking the cup, after having given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide among yourselves: for I say unto you, that I shall no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God come.
And the cup in like manner, after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Jesus therefore said to them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in yourselves. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath life eternal: and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh truly is meat, and my blood truly is drink.read more.
