By no means! God must prove true, though every man be false; as the Scripture says, "That you may be shown to be upright in what you say, And win your case when you go into court."
Certainly not! When we have died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?
What follows, then? Are we to sin, because we live not under law but under mercy? Certainly not!

Did what was good, then, prove the death of me? Certainly not! It was sin that did so, so that it might be recognized as sin, because even through something that was good it effected my death, so that through the command it might appear how immeasurably sinful sin was.
I ask then, has God repudiated his people? By no means. Why, I am an Israelite myself, I am descended from Abraham, and I belong to the tribe of Benjamin.
Do you not know that your bodies are parts of Christ's body? Am I then to take away from Christ parts of his body, and make them parts of a prostitute's? Never!
If through our efforts to be made upright through Christ, we have ourselves been proved as much "sinners" as the heathen, does that make Christ encourage sin? By no means.
Is the Law then contrary to God's promises? By no means. For if a law had been given that could have brought life, uprightness would really have come through law.
But I never want to boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, on which the world has been crucified to me and I have been to the world.
But Peter said, "Never, sir! For I have never eaten anything that was not ceremonially cleansed."
But I said, 'Never, sir! For nothing that was not ceremonially cleansed has ever passed my lips.'
What does this mean? Are we Jews at a disadvantage? Not at all. We have already charged Jews and Greeks all alike with being under the control of sin.
