And now hearken, Israel, unto the ordinances and laws which I teach you, for to do them: that ye may live and go and conquer the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall put nothing unto the word which I command you, neither do ought therefrom, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
These are the commandments, ordinances and laws which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid: but I knew not what sin meant but by the law. For I had not known what lust had meant, except the law had said, "Thou shalt not lust."
Yea, and what nation is so great that hath ordinances and laws so righteous, as all this law which I set before you this day?
The Lord God is not a man, that he can lie; neither the son of a man, that he can repent! Should he say, and not do? Or should he speak, and not make it good?
And thereto he that giveth victory to Israel, will not beguile nor repent: for he is not a man, that can repent."
The way of God is undefiled, and the word of the LORD fined as gold, and he a shield to all that trust in him.

if that people against whom I have thus devised convert from their wickedness: Immediately, I repent of the plague, that I devised to bring upon them. Again. When I take in hand, to build, or to plant a people or a kingdom: if the same people do evil before me, and hear not my voice: Immediately, I repent of the good, that I devised to do for them.
