24 Bible Verses about Fools, In Teaching Of Jesus Christ

Wo to you, ye blind guides; who say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is bound. Ye fools and blind: for which is greater? The gold? Or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

And why beholdest thou the mote in thy brother's eye, but observest not the beam in thine own eye?

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thy own eye?

Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind: but if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch.

And he spoke a parable to them, Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a ditch?

Wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to have neglected the others. Ye blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Now ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the dish; but your inward part is full of rapine and wickedness. Ye unthinking men, did not he that made the outside, make the inside also?

A good man out of the good treasure bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say to you, That every idle word which men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish; but within they are full of rapine and intemperance. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first, the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. Wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like whited sepulchres, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness.read more.
So ye likewise outwardly appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Then he said to them, O foolish, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Do not ye yet understand, that whatever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the vault? But those things which proceed out of the mouth, come out of the heart, and they defile the man.read more.
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings. These are the things which defile a man; but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, envy, evil speaking, pride, foolishness.read more.

And Jesus knowing it saith to them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither consider? Have ye your heart yet hardened?

Do ye not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they were walking, going into the country. And they went and told it to the rest, neither believed they them. Afterwards he appeared to the eleven, sitting at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them who had seen him after he was risen.

And he spake a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. And he reasoned in himself, saying, What shall I do? For I have no room where to stow my fruits. And he said, This I will do: I will pull down my barns and build greater; and there will I stow all my fruits and my goods.read more.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years: take thine ease; eat, drink, and be merry. But God said to him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: and whose shall the things be that thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break thro' and steal:

Therefore whosoever heareth these my sayings, and doth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell not; for it was founded on a rock. But every one that heareth these my sayings, and doth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.read more.

But he that heareth, and doth not, is like a man that built an house without a foundation upon the earth: against which the stream broke vehemently, and immediately it fell: and the breach of that house was great.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom. But five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish, taking their lamps, took not oil with them.read more.
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, Behold the bridegroom cometh: come ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answering said, Verily I say to you, I know you not. Watch therefore; for ye know not the day nor the hour.

Watch ye therefore; for ye know not when the master of the house cometh; at evening, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Let your loins be girt, and your lamps burning, And be like men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding, that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may open to him immediately.

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be liable to the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the council; but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be liable to hell-fire.
