"Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whosoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!' Fools, and blind! for which is greater??he gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?
"And why do you behold the mote that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam in your own eye?
Let them alone; they are blind guides; and if a blind man be guiding a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
And He spake also a parable to them: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?
"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin; and have omitted the weightier things of the law??he judgment, and the mercy, and the faith; but these it was proper to have done, and those not to have omitted. Blind guides! straining out the gnat, and swallowing the camel!
But the Lord said to him, "Now ye, the Pharisees, cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish; but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness. Senseless ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
The good man, out of his good treasure, puts forth good things; and the evil man, out of his evil treasure, puts forth evil things. And I say to you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account concerning it in the day of judgment;
"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish; but within they are full from extortion and excess! Blind Pharisees! cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the dish, that its outside also may become clean. So ye also outwardly, indeed, appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
And He said to them, "O inconsiderate and slow in heart to believe in all that the prophets spake!
And He said, "Are ye also even yet without understanding? Do ye not perceive that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly, and is cast forth into the drain? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart; and these defile the man.read more.
For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witnessings, blasphemies: these are the things which defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man."

But God said to him, 'Senseless one! this night they require your soul of you; and the things you prepared, whose shall they be?' So is he who is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

"And afterward come also the remaining virgins, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he, answering, said, 'Verily I say to you, I know you not.' Watch, therefore, because ye know not the day, nor the hour!
Watch, therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house is coming, at evening, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or in the morning; lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.
"Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning; and yourselves like men waiting for their lord, when he shall return from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may straightway open to him.
But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever says to his brother Raca shall be in danger of the high-council; and whosoever shall say, O foolish one! shall be in danger of the Hell of fire.
