Whom God hath set forth as a propitiation, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness by the remission of past sins, through the forbearance of God: For a demonstration,

believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering,

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, that ye resist not the evil man: but whosoever shall smite thee on the right-cheek, turn to him the other also; And if a man will sue thee and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.read more.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go with him one mile, go with him twain.

For first, when ye come together in the church, I hear there are schisms among you, (and I partly believe it. For there must be heresies also among you, that the approved among you may be manifest).

And if any have caused grief, he hath grieved me but in part, that I may not overburden you all. Sufficient for such an one is this punishment inflicted by many. So that on the contrary ye should rather forgive and comfort him, lest such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.read more.
I beseech you therefore to confirm your love toward him. For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye were obedient in all things. To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: and if I forgive any thing, to whom I forgive it, it is for your sakes, in the person of Christ. Lest Satan get an advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
