28 Bible Verses about Judging Others

Appoint judges and officers for your tribes in every city Jehovah your God gives you. They are to judge the people fairly. Never pervert justice. Always be impartial. Never take a bribe, because bribes blind wise people and deny justice to those who are in the right. Only strive for justice so you will live and take possession of the land that Jehovah your God is giving you.

Do not deny justice to a poor person at his trial. Do not make false accusations. Do not put an innocent person to death. I will condemn anyone who does this evil thing.

Do no injustice in judgment. Do not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great. Judge your neighbor fairly.

I charged your judges to hear the cases between your countrymen and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger with him. You will not show partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great. You will not fear man for the judgment is God's. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.'

These sayings belong to the wise. It is not good to show partiality in judgment.

If a man is righteous and practices justice and righteousness, and does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period; if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing.read more.
If he does not lend money on interest or take increase, if he keeps his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between man and man,

The people of Israel heard of Solomon's decision and were all filled with deep respect for him. They knew then that God had given him the wisdom to settle disputes fairly.

The next day Moses settled disputes among the people. He was busy from morning till night. Jethro saw everything that Moses had to do. He asked: What is all this that you are doing for the people? Samuel judged Israel as long as he lived.

Samuel said to all Israel: I listened to everything you said to me and established a king over you. Now you have a king as your leader. I am old and gray and my sons are with you. I walked before you (served as your leader) from childhood until this day. Here I am! Testify against me before Jehovah and before his anointed one. Whose bull have I stolen? Whose donkey have I taken? Have I cheated anyone? Have I oppressed any? Have I ever taken a bribe? Tell me and I will make it right.read more.

A member of the crowd said: Teacher, help my brother divide the inheritance with me. Then he said: Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

Do not judge according to appearance! Judge a righteous judgment.

You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one. Yes and if I judge my judgment is true. I am not alone for I am with the Father who sent me.

Will you tell your brother, 'I will remove the speck from your eye' when there is a beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye. Then you can see to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.

The disciple is not above his teacher. Every one will be like his teacher when he is fully trained. Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye? Yet you do not consider the beam in your own eye. Accept the man who has a weak faith, but not to entertain doubtful thinking. For one believes that he may eat all things. Another who is weak eats only vegetables. My brothers, keep the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. Do not favor one person over the other. A man wearing a gold ring and fine clothes and a poor man in shabby clothes comes into your synagogue. You pay special attention to the one wearing the fine clothes, and say: Sit here in a good place. Then you say to the poor man: Stand there, or Sit under my footstool.read more.
Do not make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts.

Brothers, do not speak against each other. He who speaks against a brother, or judges his brother, speaks against the law, and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. Only one is the lawgiver and judge, even he who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you that you judge your neighbor?

A good tree does not give bad fruit. A bad tree does not give good fruit. Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
