Deuteronomy 16:18-20

Appoint judges and officers for your tribes in every city Jehovah your God gives you. They are to judge the people fairly. Never pervert justice. Always be impartial. Never take a bribe, because bribes blind wise people and deny justice to those who are in the right. Only strive for justice so you will live and take possession of the land that Jehovah your God is giving you.

Exodus 23:6-7

Do not deny justice to a poor person at his trial. Do not make false accusations. Do not put an innocent person to death. I will condemn anyone who does this evil thing.

Deuteronomy 1:16-17
