7 Bible Verses about Lending

Give to the person who asks you [for something], and do not refuse to lend to the person who wants to borrow something from you.

You will always have poor people with you, and you can do something good for them whenever you want to, but you will not always have me with you.

And if you lend something [only] to those people from whom you expect to have it returned, what thanks do you deserve for doing that? Even worldly people lend to worldly people expecting to get the same things back. But love your enemies and do good things to them; and lend to them without expecting it to be returned, and your reward [i.e., from God] will be great and you will be [considered] sons of the Highest [i.e., God]. For He is kind to unthankful and evil people [as well]. You people should be merciful just like your Father is merciful.

Give to everyone who asks you [for something] and do not demand that he bring back your possessions that he takes away. And whatever you would like people to do to you, do the same thing to them.

"Those persons who show mercy [toward others] will be blessed because they will be shown mercy [themselves].

And if anyone says to you, "Why are you doing this?" you should say, "The Lord needs it," and immediately he will send it back here.
