No soldier entangles himself in the affairs of this life. That way, he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in the darkness! He who loves his brother lives in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling (offence) in him. But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he goes because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
