Give the poor what they need, because then Jehovah will make you successful in everything you do. There will always be some Israelites who are poor and needy. That is why I am commanding you to be generous with them.

Love your enemies and do good to them. Lend expecting nothing in return and your reward will be great. You will be sons of the Most High for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will be like midday. Jehovah will continually guide you. Jesus said to his host: When you give a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich neighbors. They will invite you back, and in this way you will be paid for what you did. When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. You will be blessed because they are not able to pay you back. God will repay you on the day the good people rise from death.

Brothers, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right. But you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.

Why do you see the speck in your brother's eye? Do you not consider the beam in your own eye?

Above all things have intense love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins.

He who covers a transgression seeks love but he who gossips breaks up friendships.

We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not just please ourselves.

He who has a bountiful eye will be blessed for he gives of his bread to the poor.

All goes well for the person who is generous and lends willingly. He earns an honest living.
