And Jehoshaphat made ships in the sea to go to Ophir for gold, but they went not: for the ships brake at Eziongeber.

After this, Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, which was a wicked doer. And he coupled himself with him, to make ships to go to Tarshish. And they made the ships in Eziongeber. And Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, "Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works." And the ships were broken that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

They that go down to the sea in ships, and occupy their business in great waters,

Be still ye that dwell in the Isle; the merchants of Sidon and such as pass over the sea have made thee plenteous. For by sea were there fruits brought unto thee, and all manner of corn by water. Thou wast the common market of all people.

The ships of Tarshish were the chief of thy occupying. Thus thou art full, and in great worship, even in the midst of the sea.
