For by grace are ye saved through faith; and this not of you: the gift of God: Not of works, lest any one should boast.
Who having saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, given us in Christ Jesus before eternal times,
And when the kindness and philanthropy of our Saviour God was made evident, Not of works in justice which we did; but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renovation of the Holy Spirit;

Every tree not making good fruit is cut off, and cast into fire. Wherefore from their fruits shall ye know them.
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree rotten, and its fruit rotten; for the tree is known by its fruit.
Do ye therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to, say in yourselves, We have a father A braham : for I say to you, That God is able to raise children to Abraham of these stones. So also faith, if it have not works, is dead by itself. But certain will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith from my works.
