They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. His sneezings flash light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire dart forth. Out of his nostrils issueth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame issueth from his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. His heart is as firm as a stone; yes, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. The sword of him that attacketh him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee: sling-stones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
Thou didst break the head of leviathan in pieces, and didst give him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
There go the ships: there is that leviathan, which thou hast made to play therein.
And the LORD said to him, With what? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets? And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
And the LORD said to Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and shunneth evil?
But he turned, and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan; thou art an offense to me: for thou savorest not the things that are of God, but those that are of men.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou art the son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter may have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and he findeth none.
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.
