I can do nothing of myself: as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just: because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, to know his will, and see that Just one, and hear the voice of his mouth.
Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me?
For he hath made him, who knew no sin, a sin-offering for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God through him.
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot,
For such an high priest became us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens:
Abide ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
And he said to them, Why sought ye me? Knew ye not, that I must be about my Father's business?
And his disciples remembered that it is written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always the things that please him.
Wherefore it behoved him to be made in all things like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high-priest, in things pertaining to God, to expiate the sins of the people.
Yet for this cause I obtained mercy, that on me the chief Jesus Christ might shew all long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe in him to life everlasting.
Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing his hour was come to pass out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end.
No one hath greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at table? But I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
and kneeling down, he prayed, saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them; but his mother kept all these things in her heart.
For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, conformable to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren.
