We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all towards each other aboundeth;
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more to the perfect day.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the lusts of flesh.
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death;
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:
For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
I have written to you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Defraud ye not one the other, except with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan may not tempt you for your incontinence.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter may have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.
For in that he himself hath suffered, being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?read more.

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak; for your work shall be rewarded.
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.
Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, acquit yourselves like men, be strong.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
For our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts will they multiply to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need of one to teach you again which are the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.
As new-born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breast-plate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
