One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, You are Simon the son of Jonah: you shall be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and immediately they told him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

And when they came to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Does not your teacher pay tribute? He said, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus preceded him, saying, What think you, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter said unto him, Of strangers. Jesus said unto him, Then are the children free.read more.
However, lest we should offend them, go to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first comes up; and when you have opened its mouth, you shall find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and you.
Now when he had ceased speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch. And Simon answering said unto him, Teacher, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at your word I will let down the net. And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fish: and their net broke.read more.
And they beckoned unto their partners, who were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his clothing was white as the light.

And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he said to his disciples, Sit here, while I shall pray. And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed, and to be very troubled;
And he permitted no man to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
And when he came into the house, he allowed no man to go in, except Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the girl.
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
He said unto them, But whom say you that I am? And Simon Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And he said unto them, But who say you that I am? And Peter answered and said unto him, You are the Christ.
He said unto them, But whom say you that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
And we believe and are sure that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if you will, let us make here three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Teacher, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Teacher, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said.
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed you; what shall we have therefore?
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed you.
And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek you.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, bid me come unto you on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter came down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from you, Lord: this shall not be unto you.
And he spoke that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.
But he spoke the more vehemently, If I should die with you, I will not deny you by any means. Likewise also said they all.
And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.
Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake.
Then came he to Simon Peter: and Peter said unto him, Lord, do you wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter. Peter said unto him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you have no part with me.
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offense unto me: for you consider not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get you behind me, Satan: for you consider not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crows twice, you shall deny me three times.
And he said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before you shall three times deny that you know me.
Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto you, The cock shall not crow, till you have denied me three times.
And he came unto the disciples, and found them asleep, and said unto Peter, What, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
And he came, and found them sleeping, and said unto Peter, Simon, do you sleep? could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up your sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrays you? Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus said unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? you follow me.
Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard: and a maidservant came unto him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied it before them all, saying, I know not what you say. And when he was gone out into the porch, another maidservant saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.read more.
And again he denied it with an oath, I do not know the man. And after awhile came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely you also are one of them; for your speech betrays you. Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crowed.
And as Peter was below in the courtyard, there came one of the maidservants of the high priest: And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And you also were with Jesus of Nazareth. But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what you say. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crowed.read more.
And the maidservant saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. And he denied it again. And after a little, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely you are one of them: for you are a Galilean, and your speech agrees with it. But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom you speak.
Then they took him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. But a certain maidservant beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.read more.
And he denied it, saying, Woman, I know him not. And after a little while another saw him, and said, you are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilean. And Peter said, Man, I know not what you say. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crowed.
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the court of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door outside. Then went out that other disciple, who was known unto the high priest, and spoke unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. Then said the girl that kept the door unto Peter, Are not you also one of this man's disciples? He said, I am not.read more.
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Are not you also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not. One of the servants of the high priest, being the kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did not I see you in the garden with him? Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crowed.
And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, who said unto him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
And the second time the cock crowed. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crows twice, you shall deny me three times. And when he thought on this, he wept.
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon.
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me more than these? He said unto him, Yea, Lord; you know that I love you. He said unto him, Feed my lambs. He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me? He said unto him, Yea, Lord; you know that I love you. He said unto him, Feed my sheep. He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Do you love me? And he said unto him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.
