I looked, and a pale horse appeared, and its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. Power was given to them over one quarter of the earth, to kill the people with sword, famine, death, and the wild animals of the earth.
It was he who brought them out of Egypt by performing wonders and signs there and at the Red Sea -- as he did also in the desert for forty years.

Then I heard a loud voice from the sanctuary say to the seven angels: "Go and empty the seven bowls of God's wrath upon the earth." So the first angel went and emptied his bowl upon the earth, and horrible, painful sores broke out on the men who bore the mark of the wild beast and worshiped his statue. Then the third angel emptied his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood. Then I heard the angel of the waters say: "You are just in passing such a sentence, you who are and were, you the Holy One. Because they have shed the blood of your people and prophets, you have given them blood to drink; they deserve it." And I heard the altar say, "Yes, Lord God Almighty! Your sentences are true and just." Then the fourth angel emptied his bowl upon the sun, and permission was given it to scorch mankind with its fiery heat, so that men were severely scorched, but they only cursed the name of God who had authority over these plagues, and would not repent and give Him glory. Then the fifth angel emptied his bowl upon the throne of the wild beast, and his kingdom was shrouded in darkness, and men in agony gnawed their tongues, and cursed the God of heaven because of their sufferings and sores, but they would not repent of what they had done. Then the sixth angel emptied his bowl upon the great river Euphrates, and its waters were dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east. Then I saw three foul spirits leap like frogs from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the wild beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet. They are the spirits of demons that perform wonders, and they go forth to the kings of the whole world, to muster them for battle on the great day of the Almighty God. (See! I am coming like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes ready, so that he may not go naked and people see his shame.) So they mustered the kings at the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. Then the seventh angel emptied his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the sanctuary from the throne, saying, "It is done." Then there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder; then there was a great earthquake, an earthquake so great that none like it had ever been since man first existed on the earth. The great city was broken into three parts; the cities of the heathen fell, and God remembered to give mighty Babylon the cup of the wine of His raging wrath, Every island vanished; not a mountain could be seen; huge hailstones as heavy as talents fell on men from heaven, and men cursed God for the plague of hail, because the torture of it was severe.
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "Come out of her, my people, so that you may not share in her sins and suffer from her plagues. For her sins are piled clear up to heaven, and God has remembered the wrongs which she has done. Pay her back in her own coin; give her double for what she has done. In the cup that she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.read more.
To the same degree in which she has lived in splendor and luxury, give her torture and tears. Because she is always boasting in her heart, 'I sit enthroned as queen; I am not a widow, I shall never experience any sorrow' -- for this very reason her plagues will overtake her in a single day, death, grief, and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; because the Lord who has judged her is mighty.
I warn everyone who hears the words of prophecy contained in this book that if anyone adds anything to it, God will add to him the plagues that are described in this book;
