And coming to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father abound in bread, but I perish here with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and say to him, Father, I have sinned to Heaven, and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired servants.

And hearing [this] they were distressed in mind, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brothers, what shall we do?

IT is commonly reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not among the gentiles, that a man should have his father's wife. And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed should be removed from among you.

For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give me in that day, and not me only but all who love his appearing.

and he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, nor shall lamentation nor crying nor pain be any more, for the former things have passed away.
