When the full time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. However at that time, you did not know God. You were in bondage to things that are really not gods at all.

He predetermined (ordained) us to adoption, as sons to himself through Jesus Christ, according to the kind intention of his will.

That way you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. You are seen as lights in the world.

Now, my little children dwell (Greek: meno: stay, dwell, be present) with him. If he shall be made known we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming (presence) (being near). If you know that he is righteous you know that every one who practices righteousness is born of him.

Observe the love the Father gave to us that we should be called the children of God. That is what we are! For this reason the world does not know us. This is because it did not know him. Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that when he is revealed we will be like him. We will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him is purified. He is pure.

Whoever is born of God does not practice sin! His seed abides in him and he cannot sin because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not from God. He who does not love his brother is not from God.

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves him that causes the birth also loves him that is born. This is how we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.

He who overcomes will inherit all things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
