But ye will receive power when the Holy Spirit hath come upon you; and ye will be my witnesses, both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

And when he had come, the Jews who came down from Jerusalem stood around, bringing many and heavy charges which they could not prove; while Paul said in his defence, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I committed any offence.

And the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; and they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. But at last came two, and said, This man affirmed, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it within three days.

And Peter followed him afar off, even into the court of the palace of the highpriest, and was sitting with the officers, and warming himself at the fire. And the chief priests and the whole council sought for testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death; and they found none.
