For by grace you are saved through faith, and this [is] not from yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; [it is] not from works, so that no one can boast.
who saved us and called [us] with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace that was given to us in Christ Jesus {before time began},
But when the kindness and love for mankind of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
I have glorified you on earth [by] completing the work that you have given me {to do}.
Jesus said to them, "My food is that I do the will of the one who sent me and complete his work.
Then when he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, "It is completed," and bowing [his] head, he gave up [his] spirit.
and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the [most] holy place, obtaining eternal redemption.
What [is] the benefit, my brothers, if someone says [that he] has faith but does not have works? That faith [is] not able to save him, [is it]?
You will recognize them by their fruits: they do not gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles, [do they]? In the [same] way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree is not able to produce bad fruit, nor a bad tree to produce good fruit.read more.
Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. As a result, you will recognize them by their fruits.
"Either make the tree good and its fruit [is] good, or make the tree bad and its fruit [is] bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.
Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance! And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham [as] father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones! And even now the ax is positioned at the root of the trees; therefore every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."
For it is not the hearers of the law [who are] righteous in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous.
For God [is] not unjust, [so as] to forget your work and the love which you demonstrated for his name [by] having served the saints, and continuing to serve [them]. And we desire each one of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of [your] hope until the end, in order that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and patience.
Thus also faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe, and shudder!read more.
But do you want to know, O foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works [when he] offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was working together with his works, and by the works the faith was perfected. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And likewise was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works [when she] welcomed the messengers and sent [them] out by a different route? For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
In all toil, there is profit, but the {talk} of lips [leads] only to poverty.
And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, [if we] do not give up.
Masters, grant your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you also have a master in heaven.
concerning everything showing yourself [to be] an example of good deeds, in your teaching [demonstrating] soundness, dignity, sound message beyond reproach, in order that {an opponent} may be put to shame, [because he] has nothing bad to say concerning us.
The saying [is] trustworthy, and I want you to insist concerning these [things], so that those who have believed in God may be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people.
maintaining your good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in [the things] in which they slander you as evildoers, by seeing your good deeds they may glorify God on the day of visitation.
Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the mercies of God, to present your bodies [as] a living sacrifice, holy [and] pleasing to God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Each one in [the situation] in which he was called, brothers--in this he should remain with God.
Therefore, whether you eat or you drink or whatever you do, do all [things] for the glory of God.
Whatever you do, accomplish [it] from the soul, as to the Lord, and not to people,
Whatever you do, accomplish [it] from the soul, as to the Lord, and not to people, [because you] know that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Serve the Lord Christ.
And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God or with respect to the law and the commandment to seek his God, he did with all his heart, and he prospered.
His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave! You were faithful over a few [things]; I will put you [in charge] over many [things]. Enter into the joy of your master!'
So then, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, [because you] know that your labor is not [in] vain in the Lord.
And there will not be any curse [any] longer, and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his slaves will serve him,
And he said to him, 'Well done, good slave! Because you have been faithful in a very small thing, {have authority} over ten cities.'
