Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed [you], or thirsty and give [you something] to drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome [you] as a guest, or naked and clothe [you]? And when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?' And the king will answer [and] say to them, 'Truly I say to you, in as much as you did [it] to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did [it] to me.'
Just as each one has received a gift, [use] it for serving one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
For [this is] not that for others [there may be] relief, [and] for you difficult circumstances, but [as a matter] of equality.
Therefore whenever you practice charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet in front of you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, in order that they may be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full!
A person of blessing will be enriched, and he who gives water also will be refreshed.
But you, [when you] practice charitable giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
in order that your charitable giving may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
But whenever you pray, enter into your inner room and shut your door [and] pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. "But [when you] pray, do not babble repetitiously like the pagans, for they think that because of their many words they will be heard. Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows {what you need} before you ask him.read more.
Therefore you pray in this way: "Our Father who is in heaven, may your name be treated as holy. May your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as [it is] in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive people their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive people, neither will your Father forgive your sins. "Whenever you fast, do not be sullen like the hypocrites, for they make their faces unrecognizable in order that they may be seen fasting by people. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full! But [when] you are fasting, {put olive oil on your head} and wash your face so that you will not be seen by people as fasting, but to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Do not say to your neighbor, "Go and return and tomorrow I will give [it]," {when it is with you}.
Do not boast {about tomorrow}, for you do not know what the day will bring.
And do not neglect doing good and generosity, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
And [when he] said, "From foreigners," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free.
My brothers, if anyone among you should wander away from the truth and someone turns him back,
Blessed [is the one who] has regard for [the] poor; in [the] day of disaster, Yahweh delivers him.
In the [same] way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

And we urge you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, console the discouraged, help the sick, be patient toward all [people].
I have shown you [with respect to] all [things] that [by] working hard in this way it is necessary to help those who are in need, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
