And Noah did according to all that God commanded him; thus he did.

And they were both righteous in the sight of God, living blamelessly in all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.

And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, for God took him.

He did right in the eyes of Yahweh according to all that David his ancestor had done.

So Yahweh said to Satan, "Have you {considered} my servant Job? Indeed, there is no one like him on the earth--a blameless man and upright and God-fearing and turning away from evil."

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said about him, "Look! {A true Israelite} in whom is no deceit!"

But Ahab son of Omri did evil in the eyes of Yahweh more than all who were before him.

Then Cain said to his brother Abel, ["Let us go out into the field."] And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

And Yahweh saw that the evil of humankind [was] great upon the earth, and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart [was] always only evil.

The name of the man [was] Nabal, and the name of his wife [was] Abigail. Now the woman [was] wise and beautiful, but the man [was] stubborn and {mean}, and he [was] as his heart.

Alexander the metalworker did me much harm; may the Lord pay back to him according to his deeds,

"I [am] Yahweh, your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves. "There shall be for you no other gods before me. Therefore Yahweh blessed the seventh day and consecrated it.

'I [am] Yahweh your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. [There] shall not be for you other gods {besides me}. 'You shall not make for yourself a divine image of any [type] of form that [is] in the heaven above or that [is] on the earth beneath or that [is] in the water under the earth.read more.
'You shall not bow down to them, and you shall not serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, [am] a jealous God, punishing the guilt of fathers upon [their] children and upon [the] third and upon [the] fourth generation of [those] hating me, but showing loyal love to thousands of [those who] love me and of [those who] keep my commandments. You shall not take up the name of Yahweh your God for worthless purpose, for Yahweh will not leave unpunished [anyone] who uses his name for worthless purpose. 'Observe the {Sabbath day} to make it holy, [just] as Yahweh your God has commanded you. Six days you shall work, and you shall do all [of] your work, but the seventh day [is] Sabbath unto Yahweh your God; you shall not do any work, or your son, or your daughter, or your slave, or your slave woman, or your ox, or your donkey, or any of your domestic animals, or your [resident] alien who [is] in your {towns}, so that your slave and your slave woman may rest as you [rest]. And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm; therefore, Yahweh your God commanded you to keep {the Sabbath}.

Instead, in the law of Yahweh [is] his delight, and on his law he meditates day and night.

The law of Yahweh [is] perfect, reviving life. The testimony of Yahweh [is] firm, making wise [the] simple. The precepts of Yahweh [are] right, making [the] heart rejoice. The command of Yahweh [is] pure, enlightening [the] eyes. The fear of Yahweh [is] pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of Yahweh [are] true; they are righteous altogether,read more.
more desirable than gold, even much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, even honey [in the] comb. Moreover, your servant [is] warned by them; in keeping them [is] great reward.

Blessed [are those whose] way is blameless, who walk in the law of Yahweh. Blessed [are] those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart. They also do no wrong; they walk in his ways.read more.

O Yahweh, who may reside in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy mountain? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right. He who speaks honestly in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue. He does not harm his friend, nor {bring up} a disgrace against his neighbor.read more.
In his eyes a rejected one [is] contemptible, but he honors those who respect Yahweh. He takes an oath to [his own] injury and does not retract it. He does not lend his money at interest, and does not take a bribe against [the] innocent. He who does these [things] will never be shaken.

The good obtains favor from Yahweh, but anyone who schemes, he condemns.

The proverbs of Solomon: A wise child makes a father glad, but a foolish child grieves his mother. Treasures of wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death. Yahweh will not cause a righteous person to go hungry, but the craving of the wicked he will thwart.read more.

The hope of the righteous [is] gladness, but the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing. A stronghold for the upright is the way of Yahweh, but ruin [belongs] to {evildoers}. The righteous one is forever; he will not be removed. But the wicked will not remain in the land. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a tongue of perversity will be cut off.

"You have heard that it was said to the {people of old}, 'Do not commit murder,' and 'whoever commits murder will be subject to judgment.' But I say to you that everyone who is angry at his brother will be subject to judgment, and whoever says to his brother, 'Stupid fool!' will be subject to the council, and whoever says, 'Obstinate fool!' will be subject to fiery hell. Therefore if you present your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,read more.
leave your gift there before the altar and first go be reconciled to your brother, and then come [and] present your gift.

For by the works of the law {no person will be declared righteous} before him, for through the law [comes] knowledge of sin.

he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

We [are] Jews by nature and not sinners from among the Gentiles, but knowing that a person is not justified by the works of the law, if not by faith in Jesus Christ, and we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law {no human being will be justified}.

For by grace you are saved through faith, and this [is] not from yourselves, [it is] the gift of God; [it is] not from works, so that no one can boast.

and may be found in him, not having my righteousness [which is] from the law, but [which is] through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God on the basis of faith,

What [is] the benefit, my brothers, if someone says [that he] has faith but does not have works? That faith [is] not able to save him, [is it]? If a brother or a sister is poorly clothed and lacking food for the day, and one of you should say to them, "Go in peace, keep warm and {eat well}," but does not give them what is necessary for the body, what [is] the benefit?read more.
Thus also faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe, and shudder!

and [for] this same [reason], and [by] applying all diligence, supply with your faith excellence of character, and with excellence of character, knowledge, and with knowledge, self-control, and with self-control, patient endurance, and with patient endurance, godliness, and with godliness, brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.read more.
For [if] these [things] are yours and are increasing, this does not make [you] useless or unproductive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For [the one] for whom these [things] [are] not present is blind, being nearsighted, {having forgotten the cleansing} of his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be zealous even more to make your calling and election secure, because [if you] do these [things], you will never ever stumble. For in this way entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied for you.

You will recognize them by their fruits: they do not gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles, [do they]? In the [same] way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree is not able to produce bad fruit, nor a bad tree to produce good fruit.read more.
Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. As a result, you will recognize them by their fruits.

"For there is no good tree that produces bad fruit, nor on the other hand a bad tree that produces good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn plants, nor are grapes harvested from thorn bushes. The good person out of the good treasury of his heart brings forth good, and the evil person out of [his] evil [treasury] brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not collapse, because its foundation was laid on the rock.

"Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and does them--I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And [when] a flood came, the river burst against that house and was not able to shake it, because it had been built well.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom, with psalms, hymns, [and] spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God,

So also you, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that [you] obey its desires, and do not present your members to sin [as] instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your members to God [as] instruments of righteousness.read more.
For sin will not be master over you, because you are not under law, but under grace.

May it never be! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

But I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never carry out the desire of the flesh.

[that] you take off, according to your former way of life, the old man, who is being destroyed according to deceitful desires, be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man (in accordance with God), who is created in righteousness and holiness from the truth.

Therefore, if you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. So then, we must not sleep like the rest, but must be on the alert and be self-controlled. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night.read more.
But [because] we are of the day, we must be sober, [by] putting on the breastplate of faith and love and [as] a helmet the hope of salvation,
