Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

And he said to all, if any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.

And he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

And a certain scribe came and said to him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus saith to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

(for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin) That ye may no longer live the rest of your time in the flesh, to the desire of men, but to the will of God.

And as he was going out into the way, one running and kneeling to him, asked him, Good Master, what shall I do, that I may inherit eternal life? But Jesus saith to him, Why callest thou me good? Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.

Yea and all that are resolved to live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution.
