Then Judas who had betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it. And having thrown down the pieces of silver in the temple, he withdrew and went and hanged himself.
And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life, for my sake and the gospels, he shall save it.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
And he said to all, if any man be willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me. For who|oever will save his life shall gose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, he shall save it:
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth, fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
But if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right-hand cause thee to offend, cut it off and cast it from thee; for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
And they that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with its affections and desires.
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world is crucified to me, and I unto the world.
Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly desires,
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

But the spirit saith expresly, that in the later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, By the hypocrisy of them that speak lies, having their own consciences seared as with an hot iron: Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.read more.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving. For it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.
