'Dies' in the Bible
“He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.
“If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished.
“If one man’s ox hurts another’s so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and divide its price equally; and also they shall divide the dead ox.
“If the thief is caught while breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there will be no bloodguiltiness on his account.
“If a man gives his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep for him, and it dies or is hurt or is driven away while no one is looking,
“If a man borrows anything from his neighbor, and it is injured or dies while its owner is not with it, he shall make full restitution.
Also the fat of an animal which dies and the fat of an animal torn by beasts may be put to any other use, but you must certainly not eat it.
‘Also if one of the animals dies which you have for food, the one who touches its carcass becomes unclean until evening.
When any person eats an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, whether he is a native or an alien, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and remain unclean until evening; then he will become clean.
He shall not eat an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, becoming unclean by it; I am the Lord.
