'Grief' in the Bible
When He got up from prayer and came to the disciples, He found them sleeping, exhausted from their grief.
And you are inflated with pride, instead of filled with grief so that he who has committed this act might be removed from your congregation.
As a result, you should instead forgive and comfort him. Otherwise, this one may be overwhelmed by excessive grief.
Now I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance. For you were grieved as God willed, so that you didn’t experience any loss from us.
For godly grief produces a repentance not to be regretted and leading to salvation, but worldly grief produces death.
Indeed, he was so sick that he nearly died. However, God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, so that I would not have one grief on top of another.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
For it brings favor if, mindful of God’s will, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.
As much as she glorified herself and lived luxuriously,give her that much torment and grief,for she says in her heart,“I sit as a queen;I am not a widow,and I will never see grief.”
For this reason her plagues will come in one day—death and grief and famine.She will be burned up with fire,because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.Death will no longer exist;grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer,because the previous things have passed away.
