'Head' in the Bible
And do not swear by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.
But [when] you are fasting, {put olive oil on your head} and wash your face
And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens and birds of the sky [have] nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
And even the hairs of your head are all numbered!
And coached by her mother, she said, "Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter!"
and his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought [it] to her mother.
a woman came up to him holding an alabaster flask of very expensive perfumed oil, and poured [it] out on his head [while he] was reclining at table.
and weaving a crown of thorns, they put [it] on his head, and [put] a reed in his right hand. And kneeling down before him, they mocked him, saying, "Hail, king of the Jews!"
And they spat on him [and] took the reed and repeatedly struck [him] on his head.
And they put above his head the charge against him {in writing}: "This is Jesus, the king of the Jews."
By itself the soil produces a crop: first the grass, then the head of grain, then the full grain in the head.
And she went out [and] said to her mother, "What should I ask for?" And she said, "The head of John the baptizer."
And she came in immediately with haste to the king [and] asked, saying, "I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter immediately."
And immediately the king sent an executioner [and] ordered [him] to bring his head. And he went [and] beheaded him in the prison.
And he brought his head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
And again he sent to them another slave, and that one they struck on the head and dishonored.
And [while] he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, [as] he was reclining for a meal, a woman came holding an alabaster flask of very costly perfumed oil of genuine nard. [After] breaking the alabaster flask, she poured [it] out on his head.
And they repeatedly struck him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on him, and {they knelt down} [and] did obeisance to him.
and standing behind [him] at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with [her] tears and was wiping [them] with the hair of her head and was kissing his feet and anointing [them] with the perfumed oil.
You did not anoint my head with olive oil, but she anointed my feet with perfumed oil.
And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have dens and birds of the sky [have] nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay [his] head."
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered! Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Even a hair of your head will never perish!
And he said to them, "Now draw [some] out and take [it] to the head steward. So they took [it].
Now when the head steward tasted the water which had become wine and did not know where it was from--but the servants who had drawn the water knew--the head steward summoned the bridegroom
Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head!"
And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and placed [it] on his head, and put a purple robe on him,
Then when he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, "It is completed," and bowing [his] head, he gave up [his] spirit.
and the facecloth that was on his head--not lying with the [strips of] linen cloth, but folded up separately in one place.
and she saw two angels in white, seated one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been lying.
So Paul, [after] remaining many days longer, said farewell to the brothers [and] sailed away to Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved [his] head at Cenchrea, because he had [taken] a vow.
And [when] the ship was caught and [was] not able to head into the wind, we gave way [and] were driven [along].
Therefore I urge you to take [some] food, for this is necessary for your preservation. For not a hair from your head will be lost."
But "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him [something] to drink; for [by] doing this, you will heap up coals of fire upon his head."
But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man [is the] head of the woman, and [the] head of Christ [is] God.
Every man who prays or prophesies [while] having [something] on [his] head dishonors his head,
but every woman who prays or prophesies with uncovered head dishonors her head, for she is one and the same with the one whose [head] is shaved.
For if a woman does not cover herself, let her [hair] be shorn off. But if [it is] shameful for a woman to [have her head] shorn or shaved, let her cover her [head].
For indeed a man ought not to cover his head, [because he] is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.
Because of this, the woman ought to have [a symbol of] authority on her head, on account of the angels.
You judge {for yourselves}: is it fitting for a woman to pray to God [with her head] uncovered?
Now the eye is not able to say to the hand, "I do not have need of you," or again, the head to the feet, "I do not have need of you."
and he subjected all [things] under his feet and gave him [as] head over all [things] to the church,
But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow into him [with reference to] all [things], who is the head, Christ,
because [the] husband is [the] head of the wife, as also Christ [is the] head of the church (he himself [being the] Savior of the body).
and he himself is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he himself may become first in everything,
and you are filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority,
and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by the ligaments and sinews, grows with the growth of God.
and his head and hair [were] white like wool, white as snow, and his eyes [were] like a fiery flame,
And I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, and a rainbow over his head, and his face [was] like the sun, and his feet [were] like pillars of fire,
And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun and [with] the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars,
And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud was seated [one] like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
Now his eyes [were] a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many royal headbands having a name written that no one except he himself knows.
