'Stone' in the Bible
and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:He will give His angels orders concerning you,and they will support you with their handsso that you will not strikeyour foot against a stone.”
What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:The stone that the builders rejectedhas become the cornerstone.This came from the Lordand is wonderful in our eyes?
[Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whoever it falls, it will grind him to powder!]”
Then He replied to them, “Don’t you see all these things? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”
and placed it in his new tomb, which he had cut into the rock. He left after rolling a great stone against the entrance of the tomb.
Then they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting the guard.
Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it.
Haven’t you read this Scripture:The stone that the builders rejectedhas become the cornerstone.
Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”
After he bought some fine linen, he took Him down and wrapped Him in the linen. Then he placed Him in a tomb cut out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb.
They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance to the tomb for us?”
Looking up, they observed that the stone—which was very large—had been rolled away.
The Devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”
But He looked at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of this Scripture:The stone that the builders rejected—this has become the cornerstone?
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and if it falls on anyone, it will grind him to powder!”
“These things that you see—the days will come when not one stone will be left on another that will not be thrown down!”
Now six stone water jars had been set there for Jewish purification. Each contained 20 or 30 gallons.
In the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do You say?”
When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them, “The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”
