'Demand' in the Bible

Also, I will certainly demand an accounting regarding bloodshed, from every animal and from every human being. I'll demand an accounting from every human being for the life of another human being.

Sarah's demand displeased Abraham greatly because Ishmael was his son.

Both hands are good at accomplishing evil:the official and the judge demand a bribe;when the powerful man communicates his evil desire,they plot it together.

So Pilate decided to grant their demand

So he released the man who had been put in prison for revolt and murder the man whose release they continued to demand but he let them have their way with Jesus.

Jesus knew therefore that they desired to demand of him, and said to them, Do ye inquire of this among yourselves that I said, A little while and ye do not behold me; and again a little while and ye shall see me?

And I do not demand for these only, but also for those who believe on me through their word;

Why demandest thou of me? Demand of those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, they know what I have said.

For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,

And they, [the ungodly in their spiritual apathy], having become callous and unfeeling, have given themselves over [as prey] to unbridled sensuality, eagerly craving the practice of every kind of impurity [that their desires may demand].

They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth.

which figure also now saves you, even baptism, not a putting away of the filth of flesh, but the demand as before God of a good conscience, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
