'Mouths' in the Bible
The number of those who lapped with their hands to their mouths was 300 men, and all the rest of the people knelt to drink water.
You sent Your good Spirit to instruct them.You did not withhold Your manna from their mouths,and You gave them water for their thirst.
They open their mouths against meand strike my cheeks with contempt;they join themselves together against me.
City officials stopped talkingand covered their mouths with their hands.
The noblemen’s voices were hushed,and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.
They waited for me as for the rainand opened their mouths as for spring showers.

Look, they spew from their mouths—sharp words from their lips.“For who,” they say, “will hear?”
For the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips,let them be caught in their pride.They utter curses and lies.
They only plan to bring him downfrom his high position.They take pleasure in lying;they bless with their mouths,but they curse inwardly.Selah
But the king will rejoice in God;all who swear by Him will boast,for the mouths of liars will be shut.
They set their mouths against heaven,and their tongues strut across the earth.
Before they had satisfied their desire,while the food was still in their mouths,
But they deceived Him with their mouths,they lied to Him with their tongues,
For wicked and deceitful mouths open against me;they speak against me with lying tongues.
They have mouths but cannot speak,eyes, but cannot see.
Our mouths were filled with laughter then,and our tongues with shouts of joy.Then they said among the nations,“The Lord has done great things for them.”

Set me free and rescue mefrom the grasp of foreignerswhose mouths speak lies,whose right hands are deceptive.
Let the exaltation of God be in their mouthsand a double-edged sword in their hands,
Aram from the east and Philistia from the westhave consumed Israel with open mouths.In all this, His anger is not removed,and His hand is still raised to strike.
The Lord said:Because these people approach Me with their mouthsto honor Me with lip-service—yet their hearts are far from Me,and their worship consists of man-made ruleslearned by rote—
so He will sprinkle many nations.Kings will shut their mouths because of Him,For they will see what had not been told them,and they will understand what they had not heard. >
You must therefore declare to them: This is the nation that would not listen to the voice of the Lord their God and would not accept discipline. Truth has perished—it has disappeared from their mouths.
This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘As for you and your wives, you women have spoken with your mouths, and you men fulfilled it by your deeds, saying, “We will keep our vows that we have made to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings for her.” Go ahead, confirm your vows! Pay your vows!’
פ PeAll your enemiesopen their mouths against you.They hiss and gnash their teeth,saying, “We have swallowed her up.This is the day we have waited for!We have lived to see it.”
So My people come to you in crowds, sit in front of you, and hear your words, but they don’t obey them. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue dishonest profit.
“This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against the shepherds. I will demand My flock from them and prevent them from shepherding the flock. The shepherds will no longer feed themselves, for I will rescue My flock from their mouths so that they will not be food for them.
My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths. They haven’t hurt me, for I was found innocent before Him. Also, I have not committed a crime against you my king.”
This is what the Lord saysconcerning the prophetswho lead my people astray,who proclaim peacewhen they have food to sink their teeth intobut declare war against the onewho puts nothing in their mouths.
Then the seers will be ashamedand the diviners disappointed.They will all cover their mouthsbecause there will be no answer from God.
For the wealthy of the city are full of violence,and its residents speak lies;the tongues in their mouths are deceitful.
Nations will see and be ashamedof all their power.They will put their hands over their mouths,and their ears will become deaf.
The remnant of Israel will no longerdo wrong or tell lies;a deceitful tongue will not be foundin their mouths.But they will pasture and lie down,with nothing to make them afraid.
I will remove the blood from their mouthsand the detestable thingsfrom between their teeth.Then they too will become a remnant for our God;they will become like a clan in Judahand Ekron like the Jebusites.
This will be the plague the Lord strikes all the peoples with, who have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
